For anyone hyped for the release of Hollow Knight: Silksong in the first half of 2023, unfortunately, you might be waiting a little bit longer for the Hollow Knight sequel to come out.
When was Hollow Knight: Silksong announced?
From a DLC turned into a full-scale sequel, gameplay was first revealed at E3 2019 (perhaps the last in-person E3 that we’ll ever see), but since then it’s been pretty quiet. It’s live on Steam, but has no release date, and we know that it’ll be coming to the Switch, Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
According to Matthew Griffin, who works in the Marketing & Publishing department for Hollow Knight: Silksong, the game is set for a delay until an unknown date:
With games released in Early Access often being unfinished, and sometimes straight-up broken, this is a refreshing response from developers who aren’t keen on releasing the game until it is a fully complete product. Perhaps this is a gift for the beloved Hollow Knight series.
When is Hollow Knight: Silksong coming out?
Hollow Knight: Silksong currently doesn’t have a release date, but predictions indicate that it will be in the second half of 2023. If it was projected to come out in the first half of 2023, and hasn’t, we can expect that it will be out before Christmas, and is currently going through the later stages of development.

Hollow Knight was one of our picks for the hardest games available in 2023, so we can almost guarantee that this is going to be another beautiful yet brutal game – and almost definitely harder.
